The summer of 2016 saw the come back of the popular 70's trend - 'The Bell Bottoms' and like how. Everyone from kids to teenagers to grown ups were spotted in a pair. Revisiting the 70s also meant, I could experiment with bold scarves and oversized sunglasses.
Let's start with the bell bots or flared jeans. These jeans became a huge trend this season but what we don't know is, it is also one of the most flattering styles of denim. It gives length to your legs and makes you appear taller as well as gives a rounder shape to your bums. So if you're short, you should definitely go in for this style.
I paired the jeans with a lacy crop top and a white denim jacket. This denim jacket is vintage and it totally works for the autumn season. Another issue people face while buying bell bots is the length. Remember to keep it slightly below the ankles and pair it with heels. This gives a better shape to the body. Since the neck was deep, I decided to tie a printed Versace scarf around the neck. Scarves were huge in the 70s. You can wear it on the head instead of the neck as well to give it a retro twist or completely ditch it for an evening look.
Lastly accessorise right! Wear those big, badass sunnies and simple jewellery. I wore my favourite JC charms bracelet with the outfit and left the house with a minimal, grey satchel bag. I hope this post helps you to style your bell bottoms better and go retro in style! (:
