With Valentine's day right around the corner, a lot is being said about the things couples should do? Where single people should go? What clothes to wear? What not to wear? We talk about all the relationships but one. The one that truly matters. Our relationship with self. The most underestimated and unnoticed relationship in the world. On promise day today, let's make these promises to ourselves. These are probably the most clichéd list of promises that could ever exist, but they are the ones that actually matter. So repeat after me, "I promise..."
That moment when you know somebody is taking undue advantage of your goodness but you still don't react. Yes, that exact moment! That's your cue to walk away because you're the type of person who believes in second chances and forgiveness. Remind yourself that you've done it all and it's not your moral duty to save anyone. You can't save something that doesn't want to be saved and who are you anyway? Mother Teresa? Give yourself a break! People aren't always what they appear to be. Things don't always end up the way you want. Learn to let go. Learn from your mistakes and move forward.
2. I will cut myself some slack when needed.
We live in a world full of fear, anxiety, depression and social dos & don'ts where it is anyway hard enough to get through the day without being judged by others. Try not doing that to yourself, maybe? It's normal to have a bad day, it's normal to take wrong decisions and it's absolutely okay to not be perfect. Cut yourself some slack. Know this can happen to anyone and admitting your faults do not make you weak. Tomorrow would be a better day and if tomorrow is not, the day after tomorrow would be. Learning is a gradual process and every single one of us is allowed to take our own time to reach the destination, whatever or wherever that may be.
3. I will make time for people who make me happy.
We all have those few selected humans in our lives who match to our wavelengths of crazy. Ever told a joke that no one understood? You know your bestie would've got it in a heart beat and would probably add more masala to it than you. Hold onto such friends. They are the best people to hang out with. You can be your complete crazy self without being judged. I mean leave the eye rollings for the siblings. We don't need anybody else to remind us of our mistakes and failures. Do we now? Long story made short- make time for your loved ones because this life is too short to be wasting on people who don't deserve your attention.
4. I will not get affected by what people say.
This is a tough one. Isn't it? Ofcourse, you want to know what that girl said about you. Ofcourse it matters what's currently trending and ofcourse you want to know if your boyfriend thinks you're thin or not. Well, it shouldn't. It shouldn't matter because these things are absolute rubbish to begin with. Then you cannot and I repeat CANNOT and SHOULD NOT waste your precious time and energy on things that would probably not matter in a couple of years from now. Haters are gonna hate, remember? Remind yourself you're the best and walk out of your house wearing those Prada blinders looking absolutely fabulous!
Can I just start with #girlboss. Because why not. Also #yolo.
Yes you are your own boss. I don't mean it literally though. You can be working under someone at your workplace, sure but this means something bigger. It means utmost control over your own life. You call the shots. You take your own decisions. You plan your own life and you know if none of this works, you've to take full ownership of things that went wrong. Do not sit on the sidelines and wait for life to happen to you. Instead go running towards it and make use of every opportunity that comes your way. People can only suggest you to do the right thing but in the end you'll be awesome when you'd want to be awesome!

Dress- Koovs// Sunglasses- Versace// Watch- Esprit//
Shoes- Bronx// Bag- Louis Vuitton
If you're a hoarder and can't get rid of your old buys, then this post is for you. I keep buying and stacking my cupboard with new cool-er things but have a really hard time discarding my older purchases even if they don't fit me now in the hope that they might fit someday. But don't we all do that? *sigh! So I made a conscious decision to mix and match my old stuff with some new ones to come up with interesting outfits with a vintage vibe.
It's true, when confused choose black! I paired this black dress which I ordered from Koovs with all my classic favourites that have been lying around the house for a while now. Keeping it classic means not going over board with accessorising and styling your look. The trick is to wear a solid colour, preferably a dark shade and keep it really basic yet stylish. This A-line dress is perfect for a lunch outing or even for a work meeting. It's my non fussy-go to dress which I absolutely love.
I simply teamed it up with a really old Esprit floral mother of pearl watch and a pair of 20 years old Versace sunnies. I'm sure we all have a lot such old things we bought when we were in school or maybe go through your mother's old must haves and you'd definitely hit gold!
I finished the ensemble with a sleek look with straightened hair and oxblood Louis Vuitton bag and Bronx shoes. Try creating outfits from your existing wardrobe just like this and do share your vintage looks with us.

For someone who was first timing this place, let me tell you Olive Bar & Kitchen in Mehrauli, Delhi was a pure delight. And no, this is not a paid article. Everything about this place was superb, hence a review! Read about my experience and try this place out for yourself to know why it's on my recommendation list.
1. Ambience & Experience
From the minute you walk into this place, it's a visual treat. It's quite old. I remember I was probably in my first year of college when I heard about some fancy restaurant opening in Mehrauli and this fancy restaurant has stood by it's reputation. It's secluded and quiet, with an old world charm to it which makes it perfect for a romantic date night. It takes you to some far away Mediterranean island with a bed of white rocks and pebbles around covered with green bushes. Just by looking at the place, you know you're in for a good experience.
2. Food for the Soul// Elaborate Menu
Have you ever heard the saying - Your eyes eat first? Well it's true! The rather lavish menu leaves you wanting for more. The menu is full of some incredible looking and deliciously mouthwatering dishes. Olive Bar & Kitchen has come to be known for it's Italian and Mediterranean cuisine. The thing that intrigues me the most about it's menu are the ingredients used. The dishes actually comprise of exquisite elements like Parma ham or Muscovy duck that give you a feeling of being in that place and enhancing the whole experience. One of my most favourite dishes at the restaurant is the fish of the day (picture below), cooked in meunière style served with sautéed potatoes, charred red peppers, string beans, and a lemon caper beurre blanc. A definite must try.
3. Impeccable Service
The service again at Olive needs a separate mention. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. They asked us about our preferences and were ready to make changes to their existing menu. They even experimented with the traditional cocktails and made it to our taste. I particularly went on a Sunday which means a jam packed restaurant. So the service was a bit late, infact, one our dishes came in later than the others but this was compensated with a complimentary dessert. The manager even visited our table to apologise for the delay. It really are these tiny little things that matter, especially in hospitality. The warmth with which our food was served to us gives them brownie points.
4. Go Gluten Free
A gluten free diet means a diet excluding gluten usually found in wheat and barley. It is normally based on natural gluten free items like fish, eggs and nuts. A lot of people choose buckwheat or quinoa over the regular wheat products. So if you're allergic to gluten or wheat and are looking for some tasty gluten free options, try out the gluten free pizzas at Olive. They are not on the menu but you can request your server to get you a gluten free pizza instead of their regular one. The pizzas here are lip smacking with crisp crusts and yum toppings.
5. Spectacular Desserts
If you have a sweet tooth and you haven't visited this place yet, believe me you're missing out on some of the most fabulous desserts in Delhi. Carefully conceived and made to perfection, the desserts at Olive are a piece of art presented on a plate. Just look how beautiful they look! I was extremely impressed when these plates arrived infront of me and even better, they were all delicious. They have some unique combinations of ingredients that sound ridiculous at first but then you go like wow, never thought this would go so well with this. After all, Masterchef has taught us well, isn't it?!
Try their Valrhona Chocolate Ganache (picture below) which is a bittersweet chocolate melted into a ganache, served with a house churned sorbet, aero choco cookie, spiced choco gel and cocoa nib crisps.
Lahenga- Rimple & Harpreet Narula// Nose ring- Amrapali//
Festivities and lights are the flavour of the month. With many of us still nostalgic from all the 'shor sharaba' which the Diwali season brought in, it's now time to prep for this year's shaadi season. Wedding is one of the biggest festivals in the Indian community. Ever heard of the big fat Indian wedding? It's true! We Indians like to celebrate the happy day with full masti and swag. The wedding celebrations usually last 4-5 days. Its starts from Cocktail/Sangeet, then comes the Mehendi followed by the main Shaadi function.
With so many functions comes the stress of finding those perfect outfits. Every occasion has a special meaning attached to it and if you're a girl reading this, you've gone through the hassle of finding a good Indianwear boutique atleast once in your life. I remember those endless visits to Shahput Jaat when my cousin was getting married. What an absolute nightmare it was! Even though online shopping has made our lives a lot more easier today but I still feel nothing compares to the tactile feeling of trying your Indian outfit at a physical store. The drapes, the falls and the fit is the key to finding or rather investing in a good outfit.
This post is for all the lovely ladies who love the Shaadi season but can never decide what to wear for that upcoming Punjabi wedding. Now that we are done with the first two functions Sangeet and Mehndi, let's move to the highlight and finale- The Shaadi. It is the one function your can go all out and wear whatever you want without thinking too much. Now how do you decide what to wear? This depends on a number of factors like the weather, if the function is indoors or outdoors? How do you want to dress up? If there is a particular style you have in mind? For me, it's usually the lehenga that I reserve for the big day. Lehenga-choli is my most favourite outfit and I love to experiment with styles and colours.
In this post I am wearing a Rimple and Harpreet Narula creation. The designer duo are one of my most favourites. Their garments are so intricately embroidered. I first discovered the duo at the India Couture Week 2014 and instantly fell in love with their designs. I love how every single piece has it's own story to tell. This gorgeous lehenga fit like a dream. I fell in love especially with the hand embroidered blouse. The parrot green skirt mixed with a bright red choli was the perfect shaadi combination. The bottle green Mukeish dupatta was just the right amount of heavy to add the minimal, raw silk skirt. I teamed up the lehenga with old tribal jewellery. Like I said you can go all out with this look and that is exactly what I did. I wore a heavy choker, multi-connected rings and a silver bracelet. The nose ring was infact, the surprise element of this look. You can shop this look from their Defence colony outlet to get your shaadi look on point.
